Our story

The Leadership Learning Center grew out of the long history of service at St. John Bosco in Little Havana. Families here work hard and long, and their children needed a place after school that was safe, academic and joyful. The center was incorporated as a nonprofit in 2009 and expanded into a new building in the following years.

Today LLC serves about 250 students a year from kindergarten through 12th grade. Funding from The Children’s Trust, foundations, businesses and individuals means every enrolled family receives a scholarship. Certified teachers, bilingual instructors, a fitness coach and a cadre of high school peer mentors make the afternoons work.

Mission

To help children develop the leadership skills, academic ability and personal character traits they need today so they may become the leaders we need tomorrow.

How we do it

Academic growth plus character plus belonging plus family partnership. Every afternoon is built on those four things.
