Volunteer your time or talent.
Weekday afternoons, in a room full of students who want to show you what they learned.
Roles
Homework helper
Sit with a small group and help them finish the day’s work. K–8. Weekly or biweekly, 1.5–2 hours.
Reading buddy
Read with one or two young students. K–3. Weekly, 1 hour.
Arts and music helper
Assist the art or music class, or lead a short project. K–12. Flexible.
PE assistant
Help the coach run games and drills on the court. K–12. Flexible.
Career speaker
Tell teens what you do and how you got there. Grades 6–12. One visit, 45 minutes.
Group service day
Company or club teams: garden, court, drives, event help. Scheduled with staff.
What we ask
- Adults 18+ for ongoing roles; 16–17 may join group events with a parent’s consent
- Level 2 background screening for ongoing roles (we guide you through it)
- A short orientation before your first day
- Reliability: students notice when you come back

Questions
Do I need to speak Spanish?
No. Many students are bilingual and staff are always in the room. Spanish helps for reading buddy roles with the youngest students.
Can I get service hours?
Yes. Staff sign service-hour forms for students 16+ who volunteer at group events, and for college service-learning.
What are the hours?
Program runs Monday–Friday after school until early evening. Most volunteer slots are between 3 and 6 p.m.
